New Member Elected to the Board of Experts

Prof. Dr. Doreen Holtsch is the new member of the Aebli-Näf Foundation's Board of Experts since the beginning of March 2021. The Head of Institute at the University of Teacher Education St. Gallen (PHSG) was unanimously elected by the Board of Trustees on the recommendation of the Board of Experts. Commenting on her election, Doreen Holtsch said: "I look forward to contributing to the promotion of teacher education and also to actively supporting further activities of the Foundation."

Doreen Holtsch has been teaching at the PHSG since 2018, where she will continue to head the Institute for Professional Research and Competence Development related to secondary levels I and II until autumn. From 1 September 2021, she will be the new Prorector for Education at the PHSG. She will thus be responsible for all training levels of all degree programmes for future teachers.

The future prorector began her professional career with a degree in business education at Humboldt University in Berlin. In 2007, she completed her doctorate at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Rostock. After various teaching and research activities at universities in Germany and Switzerland, Doreen Holtsch habilitated in 2018 with the Venia Legendi "Educational Science with a Focus on Vocational and Business Education" at the University of Zurich.
